Recipies from Us, Family and Friends!

Food is something that always brings families together, whether preparing a holiday feast, baking sweets, or just fixing the evening's dinner. Brad and I spend a lot of time in our kitchen, trying out new recipes, remembering old ones, and even brainstorming a few new traditions for our family. The past few years in our new home, we've hosted a few gatherings that have been showcased by food. Our housewarming served a variety of barbecue favorites from St. Louis and Milwaukee, while our Thanksgiving and New Year's Luncheon served traditional fares.

In our home, evenings are spent in the kitchen preparing dinner and talking about the days events; even the pets get involved. While the dogs will of course taste-test anything, Oliver is quite finicky about the meat and cheese selections, while Zoë has all dairy products down to a fine art. It's a fun time, that reminds me a lot of my childhood when I'd pull a chair to the counter just to stir (sometimes something invisible) while my dad cooked.

Since, food is something so basic and remineniscent in its own right, we thought a collection of our recipes might be fun. They don't have to be everyone's favorite or even used often, just recipes that have been passed down to every beginning cook or new member that enters the fold, something that brings back memories as well as smells and tastes that we can pass down to the next generation.

But we didn't want to stop at just our recipes, so we have opened it up to anyone who would like to share some of their own with everyone else. Think of it as our own little cooking community, online. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
