Baby #1 -- Coming July 2009!

Positive Pregnancy Test!! Time to make a Dr. Appointment.

First Dr. Appointment--Krislyn underwent a lot of tests, confirmed her pregnancy and received a bunch of instructional material for the upcoming months.

Met the new Obstetrician, Dr. Lemoine. Heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time!

Heard the heartbeat again, everything sounds good. Krislyn was not gaining enough weight, so she's under doctor's order to eat more!

First ultrasound! The baby measures right on target and appears to be developing normally. All looked and sounded great. Krislyn is finally gaining some baby weight too!

Second ultrasound! Baby is doing well and all measurements checked out--weighing in around 1.7 pounds. No abnormalities on the PentaScan, so no need for an amnio. And Krislyn is really starting to show now!

All is going well. Krislyn had her glucose test and will get results soon. The baby is a little kicker and when we heard the heartbeat was running on a sugar high from the glucose drink. In the coming appointments, we'll be finalizing the birth plans.

We learned that the baby is head down and beginning to drop into position. Baby and mom are both doing well, but with all of the kicking and less room inside things are beginning to get uncomfortable, sometimes painful.

Mother and baby are both quite well, with the baby moving around even more than before. The birth plan was reviewed with the doctor and everything is in order for the upcoming birth!

The countdown has begun! With about four weeks to go, we will now have weekly appointments where Krislyn will be measured for dilation and effacement, and her and the baby's vitals checked. First measurements showed the cervix to be fully closed and the baby and mother healthy.

Krislyn is doing well, though the STL heat is starting to cause some swelling. The Strep B test was negative, meaning there will be no need for any antibiotics during labor/delivery. The baby is still head down but there is no dialation yet.

Once again no measurements. Krislyn is starting to experience small contractions, but nothing lasting more than a few hours and there is no pattern.

Nothing! No measurements. Krislyn is sure this baby is never going to come out. The doctor scheduled a non stress test and another ultrasound for Friday (the due date), just to make sure everything is ok. She can elect induction at any time now that she is full term, but the doctor will take the baby before 42 weeks or if the ultrasound predicts a large birth weight.
